| Day 2 | Rome | Arrive Rome (6 nights) : Welcome to Rome! After hotel check-in, time to relax and unwind. Later, meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a tour briefing. Hotel: Grand Hotel Palatino (6 nights) |
| Day 3 | Rome | Rome sightseeing and at leisure : 'Roma - non basta una vita!' A lifetime is not enough to enjoy the delights this exciting city has to offer. Our sightseeing tour with a local guide begins with a visit to St. Peter's in the Vatican and then we cross to ancient Rome to see the Forum, Colosseum and the Circus Maximus, scene of 'Ben Hur' style chariot races! Afterwards you may wish to visit the catacombs or just relax in one of the many sidewalk cafes. This evening, why not try the typical Roman cuisine (Buffet breakfast) |
| Day 4 | Rome | Isle of Capri Excursion : highlight is an included excursion to the enchanting Isle of Capri. We head to the port of Naples to board the jetfoil to Capri. We disembark at Marina Grande, where we take the funicular to Capri town and walk through the winding streets and maybe shop in the boutiques! We also visit some of the beautiful gardens and enjoy views over the famous Faraglioni Rocks. Later, we cruise across the Bay of Naples and rejoin our coach for our drive back to Rome. (Buffet breakfast) |
| Day 5 | Rome | Rome at leisure : After breakfast enjoy a full day at leisure. Perhaps visit one or two of the many museums and take an optional excursion to nearby Tivoli. This evening, why not indulge in some fetuccini and cool local Frascati wines for dinner (Buffet breakfast) |
| Day 6 | Rome | Florence Excursion : This morning after breakfast we start our journey past the hilltop villages of Umbria on our way to Tuscany and Renaissance Florence for a full day. On our arrival we enjoy views of the city from Piazzale Michelangelo. Then we continue on a walking tour of the city with a local guide, showing us the Duomo, Piazza Signoria and a visit to the Santa Croce Basilica. The surrounding area is ideal for spending some time on your own to perhaps shop for quality leather and gold jewellery. Later, you may wish to visit the Fine Arts Academy to see Michelangelo's David. Leaving this remarkable city behind we make our way back to Rome arriving late evening. (Buffet breakfast) |
| Day 7 | Rome | Rome at leisure : You have another full day to do as you please. Perhaps visit the nearby Castelli Romani or you may wish to spend the day shopping along the elegant Via Condotti. This evening, why not enjoy an evening walk in the squares around the Pantheon, stop for a coffee at the Spanish Steps and watch the world go by (Buffet breakfast) |
| Day 8 | Return USA | Rome - USA : 'Arrivederci Roma' as our tour of Italy comes to an end and it is time to bid farewell to our Tour Director and new-found friends. (Buffet breakfast) |
